Obituary

Ruth Wright Nerboso, 91, in Plymouth December 20, wife of the late Salvatore Nerboso, daughter of Eugene & Ethel (Bartlett) Wright. Ruth earned a BA in Economics from Tufts University in 1943, MS in Economics from American University in 1947. Graduate work at Harvard University 1946-1948. Ruth was a Master Sargent in the Women’s Army Corp August 1943 to December 1945, she was chief of the Convoy Desk & first in Special Branch & later in Economic Branch. She worked for the War Production Board, Department of Defense & Department of the Interior as an Economist. Ruth also taught Economics at Southwestern Technical College & Western Carolina University.

Ruth was a member of the American Association of University Women, Member of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Plymouth and a member of the Alliance, member of the Society of Mayflower Descendents, The Guild for the Arts, Antiquarian Society, Black and White Club. She was active in Democratic Politics in Maryland, North Carolina and Massachusetts.

Ruth is survived by 2 sons Nicholas and his wife Dianne Nerboso of Wrentham, MA, Robert and his wife Bushra Nerboso of Brooklyn, NY, & a daughter Mary and her husband Robert Vincent of Wakefield, MA. She also leaves 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at First Parish Church, Town Square, Plymouth, Sunday January 29, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Reconstruction Fund of First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church 19 Town Square, Plymouth, MA 02360.
