Obituary

NATICK: Edward R. Lizotte, 86, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehab Center following a period of declining health.
He was born in Framingham on July 26, 1925 the son of the late Alexander J. Lizotte and Rose Anna (Perodeau) Lizotte.
He is survived by his devoted nephews and nieces, Richard J. Kane, John E. Kane, Barbara M. Watts all of Cochituate; Frances L. Lawrence of Wakefield; Anne Welch of Bristol, RI; Robert J. Lizotte of Laguna Woods, CA and Joan Harmon of Irvine, CA. Also survived by several grand-nephews and grand-nieces. He was the brother of the late Albert J. Lizotte who died in Oct. 1998 and Rose Alma Kane who died in March 2002.
Edward spent most of his life in Cochituate and resided in Natick for the past 30 years. Edward was a student at the time he joined the Navy during World War II and was awarded his diploma the following year from Wayland High School. He served his country proudly as a Seaman First Class first with the United States Navy and then with the United States Coast Guard. He was assigned to the USS LST 760, High Tide which plied in the waters of the Pacific. He saw action in the Philippines, Okinawa and Iwo Jima and was part of the escort to go to Tokyo.
In his earlier years he was associated with the shoe industry in Cochituate, and in Natick at the Dean’s Shoe Factory and the Wendall Shoe Factory of Holliston. He volunteered with Leonard Morse Hospital as a home health aid visiting patients. He was a communicant of St. Zepherins Church and St. Patricks Church for many years. He loved to follow politics both in the newspaper and on the radio. He was an accomplished tennis player and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Visitations will be held prior to his funeral mass from 10:30 – 11:15 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home. 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:30 am at the Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Zepherins Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27) Cochituate Village.
Interment will follow in the Perodeau-Lizotte-Cote family lot in St. Zepherin Cemetery.
