Obituary

HOLDEN-Robert F. Rogiers, Sr., 80, of Holden died Tuesday, December 20th in Holden Nursing Home. His wife of 45 years, Ruth E. (Brown) Rogiers died in 2006. He leaves two sons, Robert F. Rogiers, Jr. of Sutton and Ronald C. Rogiers of Worcester; a daughter, Diane M. Hanify of Holden; a brother, Kenneth Rogiers of Wells, ME; a sister, Shirley Sullivan of North Grafton; four grandchildren, Cameron, Conner and Caulin Hanify and Sydney Rogiers and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Evelyn Baker predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Cyriel and Florence E. (Vingerhoet) Rogiers. Robert graduated from the former High School of Commerce and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. Mr. Rogiers worked for New England Telephone as a technician for 37 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
The funeral is Friday, December 23 with a service at 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
