Augusta, GA---Mr. Karl Y. Little, Sr., 88, entered into rest on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm tomorrow Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Evans Church of Christ, 515 Gibbs Road, Evans, Georgia with Brother Arthur V. Pigman officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Little was born in Johnson City, TN, but had been a resident of Augusta for most of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond Academy, served as a Surgical Technician, in the U S Army, during World War II. He worked with the Surgical Auxiliary Group from D-Day until the fall of Berlin. Mr. Little was employed in Civil Service as the Supervisor of the electrical shop at Ft. Gordon, for more than 35 years. He was a loving father and grandfather. He spent many hours attending to his grandchildren and was a strong supporter of their education.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elise Jones Little of Augusta, son, Karley Y. Little, MD of Houston, TX, daughter, Alice Little Caldwell, MD and husband, John P. Caldwell, MD of Augusta, sister, Louise Little Manly of Augusta, five grandchildren, John Price Caldwell, Jr., Katherine Elise Caldwell, MD, Emily Gay Little, Elizabeth Grace Caldwell, Kristina Marie Little and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends this evening Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
