Obituary

WORCESTER____Rose H. (Majewski) Kowalchek, 96, of Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Dr., died Tuesday March 16 in Christopher House.Her husband, Peter P. Kowalchek died in 1987.

She leaves two sons, Peter P. Kowalchek, Jr., of Avon, Ct., and Kenneth C. Kowalchek of Switzerland; two daughters, Joan R. wife of Edwin F. Trefethen of Fairborn Oh., and Marie E. wife of Peter J. Bell of Birmingham, Al., nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Martin and Statia (Janiak) Majewski and lived here all her life.

Mrs. Kowalchek was a homemaker. She was also employed by Washburn Wire Co., for many years and retired in 1969.

She was a member of Our Lady Czestochowa Church and the Golden Age Club of St. Anne’s Parish, Shrewsbury.

Rose always had time to listen, to share, to smile, and to care. She was truly an exceptional person and loving mother and grandmother. It was our blessing to have known her in this life; we are indeed better persons because of her. The void left by her passing will be impossible to fill, but our loss is Heaven’s gain. We can rejoice in the fact that we will meet again. Our dearest, beloved mother- your wisdom and guidance to all your family will be long cherished- a legacy of beautiful memories are left with us forever.

The funeral will be held on Saturday March 20, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m.
