Obituary

Aldor J. “Al” Lataille, 80, of Thomas St. Woonsocket, died Monday afternoon at Rhode Island Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an accident earlier in the day. He was the husband of the late Micheline F. (San Souci) Lataille.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Aurore (Cote) Lataille. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Lataille was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Lataille was the co-owner and operator of the former Premium Cleaners on Central St. in Manville for over 30 years before retiring.
Al was a faithful communicant of Precious Blood Parish and served as an usher at the church. He was a staunch Yankees and Giants fan, always following and rooting for “his teams”. In his retirement he enjoyed playing bingo and Keno and day trips to Foxwoods.
Al will forever be remembered for his love and devotion to his family as well as his kind and gentlemanly manner with friends and customers alike.
He is survived by a son Ronald J. Lataille, and his wife Mayte, of West Newbury, MA, four daughters, Marianne L. Kane, and her and husband Thomas, Jocelyn Hemond, and her husband Charles, all of FL, Lisa M. Fournier of Uxbridge, and Susan J. Davies, and her husband Joseph, of South Carolina. He was the brother of Roland Lataille of Manville, Doris Laban of Woonsocket, and the late Maurice Lataille, Blanche and Yvonne Lataille, and Estelle Latimore. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was the grandfather of the late Bradley Lafontaine.
His funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
