In Fall River, December 11, 2011 Luz M. Rivera, age 83 passed away in the Highlander Nursing Home following a lengthy period of failing health. Luz was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico. She has resided in Taunton since 2004. Luz was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Church, she enjoyed playing bingo, crafts and cherished her time with family. Luz raised her eight children as a sole parent with love and a strong faith in god. She is survived by her children; Angel & Jesus Vasquez of Puerto Rico, Jose R. Vasquez & his wife Reanna of Mashpee, Ma., Suz E. Sufron, Wanda Vasquez, Nelida Zasquez and Mery Ann Ruiz all of Puerto Rico. Her eighteen grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Weds. from 5-7pm. with a prayer service at 6:15pm. in the O’Keefe-wade Funeral Home in Taunton, MA. 02780. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated and the burial in Ciales, Puerto Rico.
