Obituary

NORFOLK—M. Alice Ford 85, of Norfolk, died Friday December 9th, 2011 at the Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin following a long illness.
Born in Boston, on October 31, 1926 a daughter of the late James and Mae (Buckley) Ford, she had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 6 months and was a former longtime resident of Brookline, and Weston.
She was raised and educated in Brookline, where she was a 1944 graduate of Brookline High School and until her retirement several years ago, she was a secretary in the biology department at Brandeis University.
Alice was an avid knitter, reader and bridge player; she was also a member of St. Julia’s Church in Weston and was involved with the Weston Council on Aging.
She is survived by her aunt, Sister Julia Ford CSJ, of Framingham, a cousin Patricia (Splaine) Mulcahy and her family of Norfolk, her special friends Dorothy Sheehan of Weston and Joan Mermelstein of Waltham and several cousins.
The Ford family would like to thank the Walpole and Natick Visiting Nurses Association for all their help.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service Monday Dec. 12th, at 10:30AM in St. Joseph Cemetery 990 LaGrange St. West Roxbury, MA 02132. Burial will follow.
There are no public calling hours.
