Obituary

TAUNTON - Sylvia Carolina (Falotico) Rico, wife of the late Joseph James Rico, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Dec. 9, 2011.
She was 86.
Born in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Isabella Falotico.
During World War II, Sylvia worked at the Shields Factory manufacturing Purple Hearts.
After the war, she was employed in her family’s restaurant Jack’s Café, in Mansfield.
She moved to Taunton upon her marriage.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, vacationing down the Cape, and babysitting for her granddaughter and her great niece.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and, most recently, of Holy Family Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Rico Murphy and her husband Mark T. Murphy, her son Joseph J. Rico and his wife Beth MacLellan, her son and primary care giver, Paul G. Rico, and her granddaughter, Lauren Sylvia Murphy.
She was predeceased by thirteen siblings, including Eleanor LaPointe, Yolanda Klenk, and Mary Ricci.
She was well loved by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway Taunton on Tuesday, Dec. 13th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday Dec. 12th from 5 to 8 p.m.
