Albert M. LaCortiglia, 68, of Derry, NH died Friday, December 9, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 8, 1943 in East Boston, MA, a son of the late Anthony and Theresa (Pecora) LaCortiglia. Mr. LaCortiglia was a resident of Derry for 28 years, formerly living in East Boston, MA. He was employed as a shipper at Herley New England in Woburn, MA, retiring in 2005. He was most recently employed as a custodian at Pinkerton Academy, Derry. Albert loved Rockingham Park, Suffolk Downs, Las Vegas and simply enjoyed gambling.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann R. (Spano) LaCortiglia of Derry, two daughters, Gina DeWart and her husband Donald of Salem, NH, and Laura LaCortiglia of Derry, three grandsons, Anthony DeWart, Zachary DeWart and Jonathan DeWart, all of Salem, also several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Monday December 12, 2011 from 5 – 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Albert’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
