Mary (Rego) Warren, formerly Tavares, age 97 of Westport, passed away Dec. 7, 2011. She was the wife of the late Cecil Warren & the late John Lima Tavares. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Manuel & Clara (Raposa) Rego. Prior to retiring, Mary worked as a Trimmer for Shelburne Shirt Co. She was a parishioner and a member of the Ladies Guild of St. George Church, Westport. Mary also loved to go dancing.
Mary was the mother of Irene (Tavares) Rezendes (husband Antone) of Westport and Raymond Tavares of Mount Dora, FL; the sister of Henry Rego of Westport & Gilbert Rego of Ocala, FL; grandmother of 4, great grandmother of 7, great-great grandmother of 1; aunt to several nieces & nephews. Mary was the mother of late Michael, John, & Leo Tavares; the sister of the late Olive & Evelyn Rego, Laura Pickering, & Manuel Pavao.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on SATURDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. George Church, Westport at 9:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours FRIDAY 4-8 P.M.
