Helen Dobbins Lancaster, 82, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Crossview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Parmer and the Rev. David Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lancaster was born October 9, 1929 in Fitzgerald to the late Jessie F. and Carrie Norris Dobbins. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life and was a former resident of Nashville, GA. Mrs. Lancaster retried after forty-one years from G.T.E. She was a member of Crossview Baptist Church, the Esther Sunday School Class and was a former Sunday School teacher for the junior department.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne & Janet Lancaster of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly & Larry Stubbs of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Katie Lancaster, Kayla (Derek) Wilson, Jonathan Stubbs and Alissa Stubbs; great grandson, Jake Wilson; sisters, Evelyn Dobbins of Fitzgerald and Juanita Miller of Nashville; brother, John Dobbins of Adel as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
