James "Soda Pop" Richard Wells, age 64 of Clarksville, TN, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Rev. Cynthia Talley officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be on Monday at 10 a.m., at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - West, with military honors. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
Mr. Wells was born October 14, 1947 in Arkansas, son of the late James E. and Velma Wells. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Parker.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Trane Company. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and was an umpire for girls softball for 20 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved and adored his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Downey Wells; daughter, Kelly Wells Williams; a brother, Robert Wells; two grandchildren, Alex and Abigail, all of Clarksville.
