TEWKSBURY - Mary C. (Mastrangelo) Vallesio, age 73, died Tuesday evening, December 6, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Louis V. Vallesio, with whom she had celebrated a 53rd wedding anniversary this past April 20th.
Mary was born in East Boston on September 1, 1938, the daughter of the late Angelo and Antonia (Mastrangelo) Mastrangelo. She was raised in East Boston, but lived in Somerville before moving to Tewksbury in 2000.
She worked at Harvard Bookstores in the greater Cambridge area as an accounting clerk until her retirement.
Since moving to Tewksbury, she was a communicant of St. William's Church, and was a frequent visitor to the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Louis E. Vallesio and his wife Catherine (DeYoung) of Littleton, MA, Ann Marie Steele and her husband Kenneth of Arlington, MA, and Karen Daley and her husband Robert of Tewksbury; six grandchildren, Serena, Eric, and Michelle Steele, Michael, Mark, and Daniel Daley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Michael Mastrangelo.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, December 10th at St. William's Church. Burial followed at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Joslin Diabetes Center, Development Office, 1 Joslin Pl., Boston, MA 02215 are appreciated.
