Janet C. (Chambers) Visconti, 51, passed away at her home in Mansfield on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Jan was born on January 12, 1960 in Worcester, MA and grew up in Westboro, MA, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Brouillette) Chambers.

Jan was a 1979 graduate of Westboro High School. While at Westboro High School she was a member of the National Honor Society and the goalie of the Westboro Field Hockey team. She graduated cum laude from Worcester State College in 1983, with a bachelor’s of science degree in mathematics and a minor in computer science.

During her career, Jan was a programmer analyst for Paul Revere Insurance, a senior programmer anaylst for Wang Laboratories and a senior technical analyst for Colonial Management Corp. and Commercial Union Insurance. Jan enjoyed performing charity work and was a past officer for the Mansfield Woman of Today.

Jan enjoyed attending her son’s sporting events and her daughter’s dance competitions. She also enjoyed family vacations on Cape Cod, gardening and had a special skill for interior design, decorating both her home and the homes of friends and relatives. Spending time with family and friends and entertaining during the holidays were her most cherished memories.

Jan is survived by her husband Dennis, to whom she was married for 26 years, her daughter Jessica and son Anthony; her mother and father-in-law, Joan and Emery Visconti, her sister Mary and husband Jim Malley of Farmington Hills, Michigan, her sister Marcia and husband Ken Williams of Westboro, MA and her sister Diane and husband Harry Berry of Hickory, North Carolina. She is also survived by her brother in law James Visconti and his companion Louise of North Attleboro, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, December 10, at 10 a.m., at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 9, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Janet’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Our Daily Bread — Mansfield’s Food Pantry, 15 West St., Mansfield, MA 02048.
