William Francis Kenney, 79, a long time resident of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2011 after a brief illness, with his family by his side.
The son of Elizabeth (Gallagher) and William Kenney of Lawrence, Bill was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He later received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Lowell Tech. Bill worked as a Sales Representative for Morris Alper and Sons and later for Acosta where he retired after many years of service.
Bill's love of sports was evident throughout his life. After playing football at Central, he then went on to coach Pop Warner football for the Town of Methuen where he coached his son. He also found much joy in watching his grandson continue his legacy at Central. Bill found the greatest joy in spending time with his loving family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years: Bessie (Pappas) Kenney, his daughter: Christina (Kenney) DiBitetto and her husband John of Bradford, MA, a son: William Kenney of Methuen, MA, a brother: Joseph Kenney and his wife Patricia of North Carolina, grandchildren: Nicole and Johnny DiBitetto, and Matthew and Rachel Kenney, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10, 20111 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Monica's Church in Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover, MA.
