Obituary

Anthony Andrew Fimiano, 64, of Westminster MA, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the VA Hospital, West Roxbury, MA. He was a resident of Massachusetts for the past 32 years. Tony was born on September 17, 1947 in Manhattan, New York City, where he lived until the age of 5 before moving to Dickson City Pa. which began a schooling commute between New York City and Dickson City, culminating in graduation from Dickson City High School, Dickson City, PA. at the age of 16. He attended Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York and earned a degree in Chemistry. After graduation he worked as a Cancer Researcher at Sloan-Kettering in New York City. Tony was the owner/operator of a computer software business until his retirement in 2003 due to health reasons. Tony enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17, fought and was wounded in Vietnam. Tony served from 1965 to 1968 during which time he traveled the world extensively and became fluent in many languages. Tony was an active member of CSICOP (Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal) for many years, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Surviving Tony is his partner of 36 years, Linda G. Sorensen of Westminster, MA, his nephews Jen-lih and Randal of California and North Carolina respectively, and many friends and extended family. Tony was preceded in death by his mother Gabriella M. Novatny in 1984, as well as his many aunts and uncles.

Friends may call Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury, Ma.

A blessing will be said at 5:45 pm.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
