Leonard “Fred” Russell, 51

Dateline: Yarmouth, MA

Leonard “Fred” Russell, 51, of Yarmouth, formerly of Norton passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 3, 2011.
Born in Norwood, MA on October 6, 1960 he was a dear son of Donald and Helen (Langill) Russell of Norton.
Fred grew up and was educated in Norton. He was a 1978 graduate of Norton High School. While a resident of Norton he was a former Firefighter/EMT and dispatcher for the Norton Fire Department. Since making his home on Cape Cod, he was employed in the construction and maintenance industries.
An avid New England sports fan, he especially enjoyed cheering on the Patriots and Red Sox, and loved listening to Shania Twain and Aerosmith.
One of Fred’s favorite pastimes was his daily trips to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and reading the newspaper, while enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the ocean. He adored his grandchildren, and was affectionately known as the “M&M “ man.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving children Nicole S. Rinaudo and her husband Peter of Putnam, CT, Krystal E. Russell and her boyfriend John Eldredge of Yarmouth, Corey M. Russell and his girlfriend Tina Bailey of Cape Cod and Oklahoma and Jennifer E. Russell of Warwick, R.I. The devoted brother of Martha Jackson and her husband Michael of Flower Mound, TX, Donald Russell of Norton, Patricia Cannata and her husband Brian of Attleboro, Gary Russell of Norton and Michelle Russell of Norton, he is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Connor and Julia, as well as many nieces and nephews and his former wife and loving mother of his four children, Cheryl (Rubak) Russell of Maine.
His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday December 17th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
