Obituary

Lovejoy, Richard Vernon, 74, of Kingston, at Jordan Hospital December 2, beloved husband of Betty (Kirk) Lovejoy of Kingston. Loving father of Sharyn Lovejoy of Ashburnham and her companion Gary Bergeron, Lisa Golz and her husband Todd of Plymouth. Grandfather of Jaden, he also leaves an aunt Sheila Vickery, two stepsisters Lori Rosiere of CO and Cindy Borkevic of VA, one stepbrother Alan Lovejoy of CO., 3 nieces Debbie Boucher of ME, Julie McGoff of Plymouth, and Amy Taylor of VA and 2 nephews John and Michael Welch both of VA. His step mother Ruth Lovejoy of CO, and several cousins, grand nieces and nephews and many dear friends at the Old Colony Sportsmen’s Club. Brother of the late Charles P. Lovejoy and Virginia Carr and stepson of the late Eddie Sears.
Richard was born in Plymouth the son of Clarence and Addie (Vickery) Lovejoy; he graduated from Plymouth High School in 1954. Richard then joined the Air Force and attended Syracuse University studying Russian Language and working as a Russian interpreter during his service. Richard was educated in Traffic Management at Stone Hill College and worked as a systems estimator for large projects in the vacuum chamber industry for High Vacuum Equipment Corporation and then Process Systems International. Richard was a devoted member of the Old Colony Sportsmen’s Club in Pembroke and was an avid skeet shooter, excellent marksman and shooting instructor. He had a great mind for details, loved doing crossword puzzles, telling a great story and making people laugh and smile. He will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St. (Rte 3A) N. Plymouth on Monday December 5, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday December 6 at 10:00 AM Burial will be in Plymouth County Cemetery South Meadow Road Plymouth. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army, St. Mary's Church/Mary Queen of Peace Franciscan Order - Plymouth, First Baptist Church of Braintree MA and/or the charity of your choice
