Geraldine Virginia “Jerry” Davis Lee, 90, of Tifton died Friday, December 2, 2011, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Eldridge Beasley and Rev. Joseph Crumley will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Donnie Childers, Wayne Davis, Greg Davis, Tommy Mullis, Billy Lee, Emerson Davis and Bill McCranie will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James and Merline Minix, Mike and Shirley Doyle, Bud Hester and G. P. McCranie, Jr. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 4, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Lee was born on November 21, 1921 in Tifton and was the daughter of Henry Clay Davis, Sr. and Ora Wilson Davis, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John L. Lee; one brother, Henry Clay “H. C.” Davis, Jr.; and her grandparents, Thomas Jefferson Davis (best known as Mr. Nubby Davis) and Minnie George Davis and Joseph Wilson and Haley Jones Wilson. She was of the Baptist faith and taught Sunday school for over 20 years. She was a real student of the Bible and loved the Lord. She was a resident of Coffee County for over 50 years.
Mrs. Lee is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Thomas of Macon and Dolores D. Davis of Tifton; one sister-in-law, Lola Davis of Tifton; one aunt, Iola Davis of Tifton; and several nieces and nephews.
