Obituary

Orozio “Rocky” Vaccarello, 83, of Natick, passed away on November 28, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (McKinnon) Vaccarello who passed away in 2006.
Born in Waltham, son of the late Carmelo and Rosaria (Salamone) Vaccarello, he was raised in Waltham and Newton. Mr. Vaccarello enlisted in the United States Army on January 2, 1946 at Ft. Banks, MA and served with the 94th Field Artillery Battalion during WWII. He was honorably discharged on July 20, 1948 at Camp Kilmer, N.J. Upon returning from military service, Mr. Vaccarello began his career as an upholsterer. An avid horseman, he owned numerous harness race horses. In later years, Mr. Vaccarello enjoyed travelling to Foxwoods and watching sports on television. He was a resident of Natick since 1987, having previously lived in Waltham where he and his late wife raised their family.
Mr. Vaccarello was the father of Carmen Vaccarello and his wife Janet of White River Junction, VT, Sandy Cincotta and her husband Joe of Natick, Karen Rufo of Natick, and Thomas Vaccarello and his wife April of Framingham. He was the grandfather of Joseph, John, Joe, Stephanie, Christopher, Cali, TJ, Katie; great-grandfather of Connor, Rachel, Haley, and Charlet; brother of Carmella Mack, Robert Panella, and William Panella; and uncle and godfather of Cheryl Fraser. Mr. Vaccarello was pre-deceased by his grandson Michael Rufo, brothers Richard Vaccarello, Sidney Panella, Joseph Panella, and sister Lillian Panella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Zepherin’s Parish, 99 Main St. Wayland on Saturday , December 10, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours have been omitted.
