Obituary

SALEM - Robert “Bob” O. Letourneau passed away after a period of declining health, Nov. 28, 2011, at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry.
He was born on January 23, 1925 in Lawrence, MA, a son of Odelon and Ursula (Doucette) Letourneau. Bob has lived in Salem since 1953. He was a master mechanic and over the years worked at various auto dealerships in the Merrimack Valley, most recently working at Brookside Mechanical as their shop mechanic. He was always ready to help his friends and neighbors with car problems. Bob was active in the Derry Salem Elks and recently received a 50 year award. Bob also was very active with the Salem VFW where he and his longtime friend Anne Lunderville operated the Saturday night dances. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman always looking forward to the next hunting season.
Bob is survived by his son Robert J. and his spouse Anne-Marie of Derry; three grandchildren Diane, Robert, and David; nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Calling hours were held on Friday, December 2nd from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation Serving New England, 85 Astor Ave., Ste. 2, Norwood, MA 02062-5040.
