Kathleen E. Melia, 75, a resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Born in Lawrence, Kathleen was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and the Lawrence General School of Nursing. She was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Boston College, and then went on to receive her Master’s Degree from Boston University. Kathleen retired as Director of Nursing at the Prescott House Nursing Home in North Andover in 1996. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence.

she is also survived by a brother-in-law: Thomas P. Middleton of Andover, MA, as well as 17 nieces and nephews and 17 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Kathleen was predeceased by her sister Mary F. Middleton.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover, MA. Family and Friends may call on Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
