Obituary

On November 27, 2011, DR. PAUL C. ERGLER, SR., beloved husband of the late Dorothy Ergler (nee Pollard) and the late Eris Bailey-Ergler, devoted father of Paul C. Ergler, Jr.; Jeannette E. Father-in-law of Sherry Krutsinger Ergler; Arthur Maybin, III and John Robinson, Jr. Loving grandfather of Lindsay Maybin Weathers and husband Stephen; Caitlin Maybin; Sarah and Joshua Robinson and great-grandfather of Sydney Hannah Weathers.

Dr. Ergler, a retired aeronautical engineer and business management professor, died of cardiac arrest. He was born in Pittsburgh in 1919, and raised in Upper Darby Pennsylvania. He attended Drexel University, where he studied aeronautical engineering in a co-op program with Glenn L. Martin Company, which later became Martin Marietta. Dr. Ergler earned his Master of Business Administration from Drexel University in late 1950’s, and later completed his Ph.D in Business Administration at George Washington University. He became a Professor of Management at Loyola College and taught in MBA and undergraduate programs there for over 20 years. He challenged students, and had a reputation for being tough as well as for providing solid opportunities for learning.

Dr. Ergler lived in Glen Arm for over 50 years, was active in his church, as a scoutmaster for a time, and as a Shriner and a Mason.
