Raymond L. Jolly, age 87 of Clarksville, died on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center.
He was born on August 9, 1924 in Cora, IL to the late Harvey Jolly and Frona Criss Jolly. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Councillor Jolly; a daughter, Linda Williams; a son, Larry Jolly; four brothers, Charles (Buster) Jolly, Bob Jolly, James Jolly and Earl Jolly, and a sister, Jeanetta Marshall.
Memorial service to be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 3 p.m., with Full Military Honors at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Dr. Larry Robertson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m., and Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Raymond was a Master Sargeant in the U.S. Air Force, having served 24 proud years. During his time, he served in WWII, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. He was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church and a member of the Air Force Sargeant Association.
He is survived by three sons, James Roy (Diane) Jolly of Spring Hope, NC, Raymond (Jane) Jolly of Prescott Valley, AZ and Chuck (Vickie) Jolly of Granite City, IL; three daughters, Jewel Jolly-Cole of Clarksville, TN, Joyce Jolly of Clarksville, TN and Brenda Howie of Granite City, IL; three sisters, Juanita Martin, Jewel Agers both of Granite City, IL and Betty June (Clifford) Wingerter of Chester, IL; twenty-three grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
