Pauline “Polly” C. Rogers, 79, of Rebecca, Georgia, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Rebecca Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny Pate and Rev. Eric Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca. The body will lie-in-state at the Rogers’ home, 1704 Salem Church Road, from 3 P.M. Monday until 1 P.M. Tuesday.
Mrs. Rogers was born July 10, 1932 in Turner County, Georgia to the late Silas Aaron and Georgia Minchew Coleman. She was a farmer and a homemaker. She loved life and loved to fish and travel, making trips to Las Vegas and Biloxi. Together with her husband, they enjoyed square dancing. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Woodmen of the World. She was a member of Rebecca Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Wade Rogers of Rebecca and Glenn & Debra Rogers of Covington; daughter and son-in-law: Gloria R. & Wayne Smith of Rebecca; five grandchildren and their spouses: Stacey & Gene Austin, Wesley & Kimberly Smith, Justin & Samantha Rogers, Jonathan & Katie Smith, and Josh & Andria Rogers; and ten great-grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her husband: J.P. Rogers, a great-grandson: Tyler Smith, four brothers, and two sisters.
