Donna L. (Tilton) Fitzsimmons, 63, of Norton, passed away, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home, on Saturday November 26, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Fitzsimmons.
Born in Attleboro, MA on August 13, 1948, she was a dear daughter of the late Mildred R. (Monk) Varney and the late Lawrence F. Tilton.
Donna grew up and was educated in Norton. A 1966 graduate of Norton High School, she was voted the schools Prom Queen her senior year.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, she loved being a former taxi driver for the former Norton Town Taxi Co. in Norton.
Donna’s hobbies included cooking and gardening. She especially enjoyed the tranquility of the ocean, taking trips by way of cruise ships, and most recently enjoyed a wonderful vacation at Disney World in Florida with her daughters and granddaughters. She was also very proud of her heritage and being a Mayflower descendant
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children Troy R. Fitzsimmons of Taunton, Shannon B. Fitzsimmons of Norton and Lindsay K. O’Brien of Taunton. The dear sister of Lawrence Tilton of North Attleboro, William Varney of North Andover, Carlene Varney of Norton and Darlene Cogliandro of Uxbridge, she is also survived by her cherished granddaughters Allysa, Jessica, Torey, Mercedes and Starr, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday December 3rd from 2-4 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
Services will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Private burial will be held at a later date in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton
