Michael F. Flynn, 77, of Londonderry, died at his residence Thursday November 24, 2011, after a period of declining health. He was born October 12, 1934 in Brookline, MA and was a son of the late John J. and Mary C. ( MacDonnell ) Flynn. He was raised and educated in the Brookline area, and resided in Brookline prior to relocating to Londonderry, where he lived most of his life.
Mr. Flynn served during the Korean Conflict as a member of the US Air Force. He was employed as a Communication Supervisor with General Dynamics of Needham, MA, and retired after nearly 50 years of service. Mr. Flynn enjoyed people watching, and loved traveling. Many happy years spent in Inverness, Cape Breton with loving family and friends, enjoying Broad Cove concerts and Gaelic music.
Members of the family include his wife of 41 years, Shirley (Wade) Flynn of Londonderry, a son, Gregg Tadgell, of Manchester, NH, 3 daughters and their husbands, Karen & Mark Richardson of Manchester, NH, Debra & John Huff of Rochester, NH , and Mary Catherine & Scott Sullivan of Derry, NH, 11 grandchildren, Mark (The Kid), Stephanie (Butterfly), Megan (Me Too), Shaun (Boobie), John III (Mr. Buttons), Kyle (Super Huff), Eric, Steven , Jeff, Brenden (Mr. Inquisitive) and Madison (The Divine Miss M.), 1 great grandson, Angelo (Giuseppe), and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Flynn was also predeceased by his brother, John “Jackie” Flynn.
Calling hours were held Tuesday November 29th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11:00am in the funeral home. The burial wil follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Avenue, Manchester, NH.
