Eunice Perry Johnson, 80, of Tifton died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011, at Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Terrell Roberts and Dr. Danny Ray will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Bill Cowden, Michael Davis, Jeff Guess, Roger Stone, Terrell Stone and Steve Fowler will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 25, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson was born on September 13, 1931 in Crisp County and was the daughter of Alvin Jackson Perry and Christine Martin Perry, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Jones; and two brothers. She was retired as the secretary and treasurer of E. Sam James Inc in Atlanta and a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Edward Eugene “Gene” Johnson of Tifton; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Edward Jr. and Amanda Johnson of Decatur; one daughter Sheryl Kimbler of Troy, North Carolina; four sisters, Sue Perry Guess of Tifton, Virginia Fowler of Tifton, Janice Brewer of Griffin and Brenda Stone of Tifton; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
