Glenn R. “Rudy” Jowers, 70, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, November 23, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Allen Arowood officiating.
Mr. Jowers was born July 24, 1941 in Fitzgerald to the late William P. and Sarah Lankford Jowers. He lived in Ben Hill County all of his life. Mr. Jowers was a truck driver, a former employee of Roydon Wear in McRae, former employee of Johnnie’s Drive-In and a former auto-mechanic for the Ford Dealership and the Chrysler Dealership.
He is survived by his wife, Faye C. Jowers of Fitzgerald; children, Glenn R. Jowers, Jr., and Cheryl & Ed Colber of Lavonia, Joey & Teresa Jowers of Jacksonville, GA, Chris & Kim Jowers, Gene Jowers, Lisa Ball and David Childers all of Fitzgerald; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Jowers of Albany and Sarah & J.B. Howell of Pavo as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister.
