Obituary

Dominic A. β€œAL” McCann, 88, of Gordon Dr., Londonderry, NH, died Saturday, February 16, 2002, at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. He was born in Motherwell, Scotland on May 10, 1913, a son of the late Patrick and Sarah (McGrath) McCann. He was a resident of Londonderry since 1978, formerly living in Somerville, Mass. Mr. McCann was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII aboard the USS Craven and was a life member of the V.F.W. in Londonderry. He retired in 1977 from HK Porter in Somerville, Mass. where he was employed as a machinist. While living in Somerville, he was a member of St. Clements Parish. He was a member of St. Jude Parish in Londonderry where he had served as a Eucharistic minister. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop John Neumann Council #6949, St. Jude Parish. Mr. McCann was also the past president of the Londonderry Senior Citizens Club.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy (McDonald) McCann of Londonderry, two sons, Brian J. McCann, Francis X. McCann both of Londonderry, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 20th at 10:00 at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. The burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry in the spring. Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry on Tuesday, February 19th from 6 – 8.
