George F. Wirt, 93, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2011 in Raleigh, NC. He was born on August 18, 1918 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late William L. and Anna E. Wirt.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Martha Davis and son, G. Fred Wirt and his wife Becky; grandchildren, Michele (Terry) Boeder, Gail (Dave) McCowan, Dee (Chris) Adair, Dawn (Aaron) Feyzek and Karen (John) Brownlow and 7 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Patrick, Will, Alyssa, Anna, Becca and Hailey. Predeceased by his dear wife Florence, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26 , at The Johnson Funeral Home from 12:45 to 2:45 P.M. followed by Graveside Services in the Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
