Obituary

Shirley M. (Felder) Tanner, a resident of Medford, since 1968 and beloved wife of Charles L. Tanner, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Friday, November 18, 2011. She was 76 years old.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Alease (Smith) Felder.
Mrs. Tanner was a nurse in the United States Army and continued nursing locally until retiring. Mrs. Tanner was an avid sports fan. She loved all of the local teams and always had a sporting event on television. She was a long-time member of the Mystic Valley Bowling League. Mrs. Tanner’s grand-daughter, Morgan was a great source of happiness.
In addition to her husband Charles, Mrs. Tanner is survived by her loving sons; Maurice F. Tanner, James B. Tanner and Robert S. Tanner, all of Medford; sister Rosalee Wilson of Richmond, VA; aunt Nettie Felder of Washington, DC; grand-daughter Morgan E. Tanner and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tanner was also the loving mother of the late Charles L. Tanner, Jr.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Shiloh Baptist Church, corner of Holton & Bower Streets, Medford, Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, November 25, 2011, from 3 to 7 PM. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
