Obituary

Natick: Arthur H. Farnham, 87, died peacefully in the care and comfort of his family on Friday, November 18, 2011 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Boston on August 21, 1924 the son of the late Bertram A. Farnham and Yensie M. (Baker) Farnham.
He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (Pendleton) Farnham who died in August of 2002.
He was the devoted father of Nancy C. Foody and her husband Frank Foody of Ashland and Patricia F. Paine and her husband Thomas Paine of Northbridge. Arthur was the cherished grandfather of Craig, Michael and Lauren Foody of Ashland and Mary and Christopher Paine of Northbridge. He was the brother of the late Walter A. Farnham, Frank B. Farnham and Marjorie A. Wilvert. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Bill Wilvert of Dover Township, PA and his two sister-in-laws Joyce Farnham of Bonita Springs, FL and Carolyn Pendleton of Rockland, ME and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur has been a resident of Natick for the past 49 years and previously resided in Auburndale. He spent his formative years in Tenafly, NJ and graduated from Tenafly High School. He received his BA in Business from Gettysburg College. Prior to his retirement he had a long and distinguished career as a Senior Buyer for Aritech of Framingham. For several years was associated with Perkins Pipe Shop in Natick and also was employed at Sears Automotive in Natick in the paint division. He served his country during World War II with the United States Navy as an Aviation Radioman First Class. He was a longtime member of the Community United Methodist Church and loved walking the Natick Mall and visiting his many friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and his family, whom he enjoyed spending time with, was the center of his life.
His family would like to express their gratitude for all the care that Arthur received and the many friends he met at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehab Center and Brookhaven Hospice.
Per Arthur’s personal wishes their will be no funeral home visitations and private family services will be held at the Farnham family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate at their convenience.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial gifts in Arthur’s memory may be sent to the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehab Employee Fund, 45 Union St, Natick, MA 01760 or to Brookhaven Hospice, 6 Beech St, Framingham, MA 01701 and would be greatly appreciated.
