Philip J. Oteri, of Boston’s North End, died Tuesday at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 73.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End he was the son of the late Joseph and Viola (DiRenzo) Oteri. After high School, Philip enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his military service he was appointed to the Somerville Police Department. Philip was soon assigned to the narcotics division where he served his career in law enforcement. Philip was vice-president of the New England Narcotics Association. He enjoyed the company of family and friends and enjoyed cooking in his spare-time.
The beloved husband of Patricia (Bastein) and former husband of Carmella (Pericotti), he was a devoted father to Lynda Oteri and Joseph J. Oteri, both of Medford, Philip Oteri of Everett, Kim O'Brien of Brockton and Michael Kendrick of Taunton. He was a loving grandfather to David, Brianna and Philip. He was a dear brother to Nancy Guilmette of Wareham, her late husband Lee and the late Joseph Oteri.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, November 21 from 4 thru 8 PM with a funeral service conducted in the funeral home at 7:30 PM. Burial will be private.
