Jeanne B. Knapp, 77, of Londonderry, NH, died Friday November 18, 2011 in her home. She was born in Hartford, CT on January 30, 1934, the only child of the late Eugene Knapp and Miriam (Idleman) Knapp Coffin. Mrs. Knapp had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 15 years, formerly living in Winchester, MA for over 25 years. She was raised and educated in W. Hartford, CT and attended Middlebury College. She enjoyed summering in Sunapee, NH at Burkehaven. Mrs. Knapp was a stay at home mom, a member of the Enka Society, and a volunteer at the Winchester Hospital. She was an avid reader, loved gardening and birds.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Howard S. Abbott, father of their surviving children, Laurel A. Abbott of Tewksbury, MA, Forrest W. Abbott and wife Pamela of Meredith, NH, Christian E. Abbott of Londonderry, and Julia E. Abbott of Wichita, KS; her grandchildren, Caitlin E. Abbott and Michael D. Abbott and their mother Sheila M. Abbott; Grayson H. Abbott, Bethany L. Abbott, and William H. Abbott; as well as her cousin Jane Smith of Avon, CT. The family would like to thank the Manchester VNA for their care and support during this difficult time .
Calling hours will be held on Sunday November 20, 2011 from 2:00 – 5:00PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry with cremation to follow. Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 3, 2011 at 11:00am in the funeral home.
