Obituary

Salem: Cecile M. (Beaulieu) Abodeely, 101 years of age, died at home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday evening, November 16. 2011. She was the wife of the late Frederick Abodeely with whom she had shared 42 years of marriage

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Michaud) Beaulieu. Just several weeks short of her 102nd birthday, Cecile was a devoted wife and mother and was especially close to her sisters. She was an excellent homemaker and cook. An advocate for priestly vocations, she was the patroness of the Rev. Father Ennock Gwengwea and Father Ignatio Bokosi both of Central America. Cecile was a life long resident of Salem and member of the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem.

She is survived by: two sons, Fred ‘Frank’ Abodeely and his wife JoAnn of Salem, Philip L. Abodeely and his wife Mary Ellen of Peabody, a daughter Ann Elder of Auburn, NH, two sisters, Albertine ‘Betty’ Robinson and Annette ‘Tibby’ Gagnon both of Salem. She is also survived by 3 grandsons, Michael & Mark Abodeely both of Salem and Adam Cook of Auburn, NH as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alma A. Bouchard and Therese LaMontagne, and her brother, Lucien Beaulieu.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 1 p.m., to be followed by her burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours will be private.
