Thomas S. Nixon, 48, most recently of Foxboro, formerly of Florida and Norton passed away in the presence of his loving family on Thursday November 17, 2011.
Born in Attleboro, MA on August 13, 1963, he was a loving son of Sandra J. (Peterson) Hannan of Foxboro, Robert C. Nixon of Norton, and was the stepson of the late Thomas P. Hannan.
Tom grew up and was educated in Norton, and was a 1981 graduate of Norton High School. He furthered his studies and was a graduate of Florida Metropolitan University.
While living in Florida, where he made his home for 10 years, he was employed as a security officer for the Home Shopping Network.
Tom was a world traveler who loved music and playing the drums. A connoisseur of fine food, he enjoyed cooking and dining out, and will always be remembered for his sharp dry wit.
In addition to his parents, he was the dear brother of Bob Nixon and his wife Ann of North Attleboro, Dennis Nixon of Buzzards Bay, Leslie Gillis and her husband David of Georgia, Deborah McCarthy of North Attleboro and Sean Hannan and his wife Panita of South Attleboro. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday December 3rd at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of East providence, 1400 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford, RI. Burial will be private.
