TEWKSBURY - Digna E. (Solorzano) Kurs, age 92, a former Hancock Insurance employee, died unexpectedly but peacefully during the morning hours of Wednesday, November 16, at her home.
She was born in Santiago, Cuba, on February 5, 1919, the youngest and last surviving of sixteen children of Ramon and Juana (Cabrera) Solorzano. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1969.
She was retired from the Records Service Division of John Hancock Insurance Company's in Boston Headquarters.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tewksbury and was a member of the church's Philatheas group.
She is survived by her former husband, Luis Kurs II of Brockton; two sons, Luis Kurs III and Carlos A. Kurs both of Tewksbury; her daughter-in-law, Ruth (Chagnon) Kurs of Dracut; her two grandchildren Megan and Emily Kurs of Dracut; and numerous nieces and nephews in Ohio, California, Florida, and Cuba.
Her Funeral Service was held in the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover Street, (Rte 133) No. Tewksbury, followed by burial in Tewksbury Cemetery.
