Obituary

Carroll Edward Wilson, 90, of Louisville, passed away in Hospice care on Monday, November 14, 2011. He was born in Webster County, KY on August 23, 1921, the only child of Brit and Winnie Wilson, and was a resident of Louisville for 56 years. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 181, for 70 years and he also retired from Miller Transportation. An Army veteran, Carroll served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a 63 year Mason at Dixon Lodge #911. He was a member of Shively Baptist Church after having been a long term member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church, where he met his loving wife, Ovella Mae Patterson-Nunn.



He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Evelyn. He is survived by his wife, Ovella, and his daughter, Barbara Squires, two grandsons, Eddie and Frankie Squires, two great-grandchildren, Mary Beth and Kenny Squires. He is also survived by a step-son, Barry Nunn, a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Mae Nunn, and two step great-granddaughters, Ava Hollis and Cloie Holmes. He is also survived by his former son-in-law, Kenneth F. Squires.



Visitation will be at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY on Wednesday, from 3 until 8:00p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:00p.m.. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 10:00a.m until Noon with the funeral service to follow at Noon. A visitation will be held at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson, KY on Friday, November 18, from 10:00a.m. until 2:00p.m. (CST) with burial to follow at 2:30p.m. (CST) at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY.
