John P “Jack” Kenney, of Brockton formerly of Medford, died Monday on his 72nd birthday at the Good Samaritan Medical Center of Brockton.
Jack was born in Charlestown, and raised in Medford where he lived most of his life. He worked for many years as a stockman with Stop and Shop. After his retirement he and his wife, Deb, moved to Brockton. He was a member of the YMCA in Somerville and the Eagle Club in Malden. Jack was devoted to his family and enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
The beloved husband of Deborah (Merritt) Kenney, he was a devoted father to Christopher Kenney of NH and Eric Kenney of Somerville. He was a beloved “Papa” to Trevor, Addison and Ainsley. He was the dear brother of the late Charles, Frederick, Ruth Noseworthy and Eileen Masterson.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
