O’Connor --- John Brendan of Andover formerly of Mission Hill. November 14, 2011. Beloved son of the late Delia A. (Joyce) and Bernard J. O’Connor Sr. Loving brother of Dorothy E. O’Connor-Cataldo of North Andover, Sr. Mary M. O’Connor (School Sister of Notre Dame) of Needham and the late Bernard J. Jr and Helga A. O’Connor and two infant brothers Patrick and Brendan O’Connor. Devoted uncle of Sean R. and Jana Cataldo of Acton, Michael J. and Laura O’Connor of Crestwood, MO and Doris S. and Gary Watts of Seattle, WA. Great uncle of Michael, Catherine, Liam and Norah.
John was a graduate of Mission High School, Calvin Coolidge College, Boston, with a BA in Psychology, a Masters Degree from Notre Dame in 1962. He also attended Suffolk University and NYU School of Social Work. John was the Clinic Director of the Salem Hospital, Clinic on Alcoholism for over twenty three years and a faculty member of Salem State College. After many dedicated years of social work, John retired from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Heath in 1998.
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral 1803 Centre St West Roxbury, on Friday, November 18th at 11:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Name Church at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Friday morning beginning at 10:00am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
