Obituary

Abington – Francis “Frank” Trecarichi 80, a resident of Abington for over 40 years, died Monday November 14 after a period failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann (Claflin) Trecarichi.

Born and raised in Boston he was the son of the late Gaetano and Carolina (Rabbiolo) Trecarichi and a graduate of Dorchester High School.

Frank was a proud veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army from 1949 – 1953, where he had played football for the “Army Team”.

Frank had been a talented chef working at the former Hugo’s Lighthouse in Cohasset for over 25 years. He later was responsible for opening the food services area of North Hill, a retirement community, and had remained as chef there for over 20 years. He had been a longtime and active member of the Epicurean Club of Boston, America’s Oldest Professional Chefs Club.

In his retirement he had become an active member of the Flame of Fire Church of Abington, and was a familiar sight walking each day with his rescued Greyhound. He also enjoyed his time spent playing golf.

He is survived by his son Joseph Trecarichi of Bridgewater, and his grandchildren Grace and Priscilla Trecarichi. He is also survived by his sisters Carol Popielarczyk of East Hampton, Antoinetta Ciarlecta of Norwood, and Yolanda Segol of Hyde Park as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rose Colito, Rita Augustino, and Paul Trecarichi.

His funeral service will be held Monday November 21 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM in the MA VA Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held Sunday November 20 from 2 - 4 PM.
