Center Harbor-----J. Ralph Anthony, 89, of 21 Wood Ridge Rd., died at the Golden View Health Care Center, Meredith, on Friday, November 11, 2011.
Mr. Anthony was born September 8, 1922 in Chelsea, MA, the son of Ebenezer and Daisy (Ralph) Anthony. He grew up in Revere MA, had lived in Melrose MA for over 30 years, and was subsequently a resident of Framingham MA and Meredith and Center Harbor, NH.
He was a 1940 graduate of Revere High School and a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Army in the South Pacific.
Mr. Anthony was self-employed as a manufacturer’s representative to a suite of electronics firms in the ‘50’s through mid ‘70’s, and later worked as a realtor® and appraiser. He was an advisor to a Junior Achievement chapter in Boston for several years and a long-term member of Wyoming Lodge, AF&AM in Melrose. Mr. Anthony enjoyed music, especially big-band and jazz, and traveling, especially to Prince Edward Island. He will lovingly be remembered by many friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Ginnie” P. (Colwell) Anthony, of Center Harbor; a daughter, Linda Clark, and her husband Harold, of New Jersey; a stepson, Robert Page, and his wife Heather, of Laconia; a stepdaughter, Susan Shimanoski, and her husband Jack, of Loudon; two grandsons, Andrew and Alexander Clark, both of New Jersey; two step-grandsons, Wesley Page and Jessica Fanjoy and a great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Marian (Knipp) Anthony and by a brother William Raynor Anthony.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
Burial will be held at a later date in the Center Harbor Memorial Park, Center Harbor, NH.
