Geraldine K. Wartenberg, 79, of North Truro (formerly of Oradell, NJ) died November 10, 2011 at Cape Cod Hospital after an accidental fall in her home. She was the wife of Barry Wartenberg.
Born in Little Ferry, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Johanna (Hugerich) Kubat. Before retirement, she was a secretary with Riverdell Regional School System in New Jersey. Upon their retirement 25 years ago, Mrs. Wartenberg and her husband moved to North Truro.
Over the years, Mrs. Wartenberg became active with the Truro Council on Aging needlework programs. She also volunteered at the Highland Light House Museum, and helped to raise funds for the relocation and restoration of the Lighthouse.
In addition to her husband, sons Keith and Gary Wartenberg of New Jersey, and Jeff Wartenberg of North Carolina survive her. Grandchildren Eric and Thomas Legerwood as well as Alex, Curtis, Jeremy, Kyle, and Alana Wartenberg also survive her. Her daughter, Kim Legerwood, predeceased her.
Friends are invited to call at the Gately Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown on Friday November 18th at 2:00 pm where a Remembrance Service will be held.
