BROOKFIELD; Nellie “Irene” (Seaver) Albro, 95, formerly of Leicester and Auburn, died Sunday, November 13 at Autumn Village Nursing Home in Worcester.
She was the wife of Glennon R. Albro who died in 1978.
She leaves two sons, Donald G. Albro and his wife Louise of Barre, George H. Albro and his wife Lillian of Worcester, two daughters, Beverly L. Granger and her husband Ken of Sturbridge, and Patricia E. Dionne and her husband Gerry of Marlborough, a sister, Marilyn Clarke of West Brookfield, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by five siblings.
Mrs. Albro was born in Worcester on May 25, 1916 and was the daughter of George C. & Abbie L. (Spencer) Seaver and lived in Auburn for 13 years then Leicester for 20 years before moving to Brookfield in 1970.
She was a waitress at the former Doray’s Restaurant and LeBlanc’s Restaurant in Spencer, retiring in 1975.
While living in Brookfield, she volunteered at Fallon Clinic in Sturbridge for many years. She was one of the original founders of the Leicester Little League. She served on the Leicester Memorial School Building Committee and was a former member of the Leicester Grange. She enjoyed bowling, playing pool and cards, bingo, traveling and family gatherings during the Holidays.
She was a loving mother to all her children and was someone who was always willing to help other people.
The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Autumn Village Nursing Home for their loving care of Irene.
At the family's request Funeral Services will be private. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
