Sarah R. (DeMarco) Taschetta, a longtime Medford resident died peacefully at the Woburn Nursing Center. She was 95.
Born and raised in Sydney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and the late Domenica (Valore) DeMarco. A Medford resident for over 65 years, Sarah was devoted to her family. She worked as a cook most of her life, helping her son in his catering business, Minuteman Catering. She also helped him operate the commissary at the Cambridge Court House. Sarah was a devout woman and was dedicated to her parish of St. Clement in Somerville as well as St. Leonard in the North End.
She was the beloved wife of the late James Taschetta and a devoted mother to Maria Taschetta Ily of Salem, Michael Taschetta of Abington and the late Joseph Taschetta. She was the dear mother-in-law of Mildred Taschetta of Wakefield. She leaves her grandchildren: Joseph, James, Paula, Liana, David, Lenny, Nicholas, and Michael, Jr. She leaves two great-grandchildren Alex and Laurel. She is predeceased by Nancy Terrizzi and Paul DeMarco, her sister and brother.
Friends and family may visit at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday, November 15th 9:30 - 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Clement Church, Somerville – Medford at 11 AM concluding with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
