RAYNHAM – Wayne A. Finch, 68, died at his Raynham home on Nov. 11, 2011.
He was the husband of the late Carol A. (Pacheco) Finch, to whom he was married for over 43 years.
Born and raised in West Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Alvin C. and Mildred R. (Kugis) Finch.
A 1961 graduate of West Bridgewater High School, he received an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Bristol Community College in 1975.
A Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War, he was employed by the Taunton Police Department as a police officer for over 33 years.
He retired in 1998.
A communicant of Holy Family Church, in East Taunton, Mr. Finch enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.
He leaves a son, Jeffrey W. Finch of Raynham; two daughters, Kristin M. McGovern and her husband Derek and Jill E. Finch, all of Raynham; three grandsons, Nicholas and Casey Finch, and Ryan McGovern; a godchild, Kim Welcome Pacheco; three brothers, Robert Finch of Michigan, John Finch of Raynham, and Peter Finch of Bridgewater; five sisters, Betty Soares of Easton, Frances Silvia of SC, Jody Finch of Raynham, and Tina and Donna Finch, both of West Bridgewater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Joel and Kurt Finch.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church, East Taunton, at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 15th from 4 to 8 p.m.
