Mr. Lawrence J. Russo, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Medford died Friday in the Brigham And Women's Hospital in Boston. He is the beloved husband of Rita (DeBiase) Russo with whom he shared more than 57 years of marriage. Mr. Russo was born in Medford, son of the late Peter and Catherine (Tortorice) Russo. He was educated in Medford and is a graduate of Medford Vocational High School, class of 1956. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict
Mr. Russo worked as a carpenter and was self employed. He was the founder of Russo Construction based out of West Medford. He also served on many projects as a general contractor. A congenial man, he loved socializing and entertaining family and friends in his home in West Yarmouth. He also enjoyed a game of chance. He liked playing cards and took occasional trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods. He was also and avid NFL fan. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter: Paula Colligan and her husband William of SC, two sons: Larry Russo Jr. and his wife Lisa of Medford, Peter Russo and his wife Jeanne of Andover. He is the beloved Grandfather of Daniel and Jeffrey Colligan of SC; Eric Russo and Thomas Lamson of Medford and the late Michael Doucette. Brother of the late Therese Fiorillo. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street Medford on Monday at 10:30 am. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, Monday at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday, prior to mass from 9:30 – 10:30am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s name may be sent to the Kimi Nichols Center Inc.
