Joan M. Ormond, 70 of Chester, NH, died Sunday, March 7, 2004 in her home. Mrs. Ormond was born in Worcester, MA on October 3, 1933, a daughter of the late James and Mary (O'Brien) Casey. She was a resident of Chester since 1988, formerly living in Derry, NH. She was a graduate of Classical High School in Worcester, MA and then graduated from Worcester State College with a BS in secondary education and math. Joan was a caring person and donated to many organizations. She was also an avid reader.
She is survived by four sons, Stephen Ormond of Allenstown, NH, Robert Ormond of Derry, Paul Ormond and his wife Cindy of Hudson, NH, James Ormond and his wife Anne of Dover, NH, one daughter, Mary Ellen Ormond and her partner Cheryl Lampert of Chester, nine grandchildren, one brother, James Casey of Westminster, MA, one sister, Patricia Casey of Gardner, MA., several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert C. Ormond Jr. who died in 1991 and her daughter Ellen Marie Ormond.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 11th at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 - 9 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry.
